Dr. Shetty’s educational journey began at St. Aloysius High School in Mangalore.
He completed his graduate and postgraduate professional education at Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore.
Subsequently, he pursued a vascular surgery fellowship in the UK.
Upon returning from the UK, he served as an Assistant Professor in Surgery at Kasturba Medical College.
He continued his dedicated work there until 1989.
Notably, his specialized surgical unit in Peripheral Vascular Surgery at Government Wenlock Hospital is still operational, providing affordable specialized surgical
care to the underprivileged.
The Trust, under Dr. Shetty’s guidance, manages 19 diverse graduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses across nine affiliated colleges with Rajiv Gandhi University
of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and Mangalore University, Mangaluru.
Furthermore, the Trust contributes to the community by operating the Blood Bank at Government Wenlock Hospital, clinical facilities in Physiotherapy and the Medical
Laboratory at Government Lady Goschen Hospital.
Dr. Shetty’s founding vision was inspired by his father’s work at both the professional and community levels.
It not only aimed at delivering quality healthcare services and training professionals in various allied medical fields but also at educating the public and
offering affordable diagnostic and therapeutic services in collaboration with the government.
