Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Nursing affiliated by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences offers PhD OBG Nursing programme under the Faculty of Nursing to promote doctoral education and to develop competency to conduct research individually.

A Ph.D. in Obstetrics and Gynecological (OBG) Nursing is a doctoral-level academic program designed for nurses who seek advanced expertise and research skills in the specialized field of women’s health. This program typically involves in-depth study, research, and the development of advanced clinical and leadership skills.

 

Our Aims

  • To advance understanding and contribute to the improvement of maternal health outcomes through in-depth research in Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing.
 

Our Objectives

Upon completing the Ph.D. in Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, the graduate will be able to:

  • Exhibit advanced proficiency in nursing practice, staying updated with evidence-based approaches.
  • Display leadership skills as a nurse educator and manager in both academic and healthcare settings.
  • Effectively design, conduct, and lead nursing research projects in the field.
  • Interpret and apply health research findings to enhance evidence-based practices in women's health care.
  • Practice as a highly skilled nurse specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Admission & Curriculum Information

ELIGIBILITY AND DURATION

  1. Candidates must have a Post Graduate qualification in the concerned specialization and faculty.
  2. Candidates with M.Sc/M.Phil in Nursing degree awarded by RGUHS or a College/University recognized by INC are eligible for enrollment for Ph.D course in concerned subjects of Nursing.
  3. Admission to the program is based on the Ph D Entrance Examination conducted by the University.
  4. The eligible candidates have to download the application form online and the filled-in application form along with supporting documents with prescribed fee has to be submitted to RGUHS.
  5. There will be only one stream of admission annually. The eligibility secured at the entrance Exam is valid for admission in that particular academic year only as per calendar of events.
  6. Duration of the Ph.D. Programme is as per RGUHS Revised Ordinance

Documents required for Admission

Following Original Certificates should be submitted at the time of Admission with one set of attested copy Attested copies.

  • Aadhar Id(Xerox copy)
  • SSLC/10th Marks card
  • HSC/PUC/10+2 Marks card
  • M.Sc.Nursing Marks cards of all the years.
  • Provisional Pass Certificate or Degree certificate issued by the University.
  • Course completion certificate issued by the college.
  • Transfer certificate issued by the college.
  • Character/conduct certificate issued by the College last studied.
  • Experience Certificate.
  • Migration certificate issued by the University/Board other than Karnataka State.
  • Eligibility Certificate from RGUHS Bangalore other than Karnataka State.
  • Physical fitness/Medical certificate.
  • Passport size photograph 10 Nos.
  • For students from Nepal: Provisional Pass Certificate or Degree certificate issued by the University/Board Nepalese citizenship certificate and date of birth in Indian Almanac (A.D.) and Equivalence certificate
  • For students from other country: Passport and student visa and date of birth in Indian Almanac.
